Kaliakmanis showed flashes but couldn't sustain offense; temporary fill-in role.

Seventh-round rookie Athan Kaliakmanis made his debut after Marcus Mariota's injury and became the first rookie to throw his first NFL touchdown in an international game. He had a couple of impressive throws and big plays, including a long touchdown to Treylon Burks, but ultimately the Commanders were outmatched without Mariota. Multiple analysts noted he made rookie mistakes and couldn't sustain offensive production, with the expectation that he won't play another snap this season unless for kneel-down duty once Jayden Daniels returns.
