What I've noticed with Coleman early in Year 3 is that he's finally understanding how to get open and "stay open" against zone. He's not running through voids in coverage. He's processing said coverage faster, and it's clicking faster in his mind that he might actually already be open in some stages of the route.

Coleman improving zone-coverage processing and route creativity in Year 3.
Coleman is finally understanding how to get open and stay open against zone coverage in Year 3; he's processing coverage faster and recognizing when he's already open in stages of the route. He's also grasping that creativity in route-running is needed to get open or stay open for Josh Allen. While Coleman is still not separating at a regular clip and is unlikely to be a consistent man-coverage winner in the NFL, his improved zone-coverage processing and route creativity represent meaningful growth as a player under Joe Brady's offensive system.
