At this point, it would be an upset if former Chiefs wideout Tyreek Hill — apparently in the final stages of recovering from a gruesome knee injury — does not return to Kansas City. I fully expect that to happen within the next few weeks... Whatever contract he signs will likely be built around a guaranteed minimum base salary (prorated for the weeks he signs for) plus incentives.

Hill expected to return to Chiefs within weeks; likely low-cost deal.

Hill is apparently in the final stages of recovering from a gruesome knee injury and is expected to return to Kansas City within the next few weeks. He forced a trade out of Kansas City to receive a $120 million extension from the Miami Dolphins in 2022, but after multiple surgeries and only 21 catches for 265 yards and one touchdown in four games last season, he is unlikely to command average wide receiver money on an in-season contract. His deal will likely be built around a guaranteed minimum base salary (prorated for weeks signed) plus easily attainable incentives categorized as Not Likely to be Earned for cap purposes.
