Before we dive in, let me be clear. I am not advising anyone to sit McCaffrey. I am merely pointing out the way in which his role -- and subsequent production -- appears to have shifted. He's not been nearly as prolific as a pass catcher this season.

McCaffrey's receiving role has declined sharply; route share down from RB1 to RB10.

McCaffrey's role and production have shifted significantly. Through four weeks, he ran 129 routes with 31 receptions and 305 receiving yards (all RB1). Currently, he's run 72 routes (RB10), converted 16 balls (RB6), and posted 122 receiving yards (RB6). His rushing efficiency remains average at 4.4 YPC, and he has managed neither a 20-yard run nor a 20-yard run after the catch, despite 29 RBs recording at least one 20-yard run and 22 recording a 20-yard RAC. The source explicitly states: 'I am not advising anyone to sit McCaffrey. I am merely pointing out the way in which his role -- and subsequent production -- appears to have shifted.'
