Evans is seventh in the NFL in EPA per target and fifth in targeted success percentage, representing the caliber of true WR1 the 49ers lacked against Seattle last season. Despite only 24 targets (the six receivers ahead of him have at least 39), Evans has been incredibly efficient; of his 17 receptions, 14 have resulted in either a first down or a touchdown. Kyle Shanahan moves Evans around the formation enough that defenses can't key in on him, and his presence has opened up the 49ers' passing attack vertically and horizontally.
