McCarthy considered as Giants' No. 2 QB with limited rushing upside

J.J. McCarthy, a 23-year-old quarterback, is being considered as the No. 2 quarterback behind Jameis Winston for the Giants against the Commanders. Head coach John Harbaugh said this is "definitely on the table." McCarthy is not the runner that Jaxson Dart is, averaging 3.7 rushes per game for 4.9 yards per carry compared to Dart's 6.1 rushing attempts per game and 5.6 yards per carry. However, McCarthy is an athletic option who could keep the quarterback run game in the playbook.
