Cuevas didn't get much action in this one till Smythe went down, but his role against the Titans was exclusive to run blocking. That's going to have to change with Smythe's injury.

Cuevas' role expands post-Smythe; underrated vertical threat

Rookie tight end saw limited action until Smythe's injury, with snaps previously limited to run blocking. Cuevas possesses skill set to expand role: excellent chip blocker with quick release, capable pass blocker when staying in, underrated vertical threat from Alabama tape with excellent vertical route running and top-speed ability. Ravens will need to develop role quickly with Smythe out for season, creating opportunity for increased snaps and pass-game involvement.
