NBC Sports Rotoworld on Kyle Pitts
From the article
Pitts ran a route on just 43 percent of Michael Penix's dropbacks. He earned an acceptable 17 percent target share, but did so with an average target depth of 2.7. His aDOT has fallen in every game this year and he has run fewer than half of the routes twice.
STACKED’s take
Pitts' 43% route rate and declining aDOT disqualify him as TE1.
Pitts was signed to a three-year, $54 million contract in the offseason but his role is concerning. He had two catches for 20 yards through three weeks, but his numbers ticked up in Week 4 with three catches for 47 yards. However, he ran a route on just 43 percent of Michael Penix's dropbacks in Week 4. He earned an acceptable 17 percent target share but did so with an average target depth of 2.7. His aDOT has fallen in every game this year and he has run fewer than half of the routes twice. Before 2026, Pitts had only logged a route rate below 50 percent once in his career; it has already happened twice this year. He can't be viewed as a TE1 until the role improves drastically.
