Mile High Report on Courtland Sutton
From the article
[WR] Courtland [Sutton] understands this business. He's been in these ebbs and flows of the year. He's also had 20 receptions a game... there's a lot out there on the field for a lot of these touches and a lot of guys getting the football.
STACKED’s take
Sutton's target decline reflects offensive distribution, not effort; Nix praises his professionalism.
QB Bo Nix acknowledges that WR Courtland Sutton is receiving fewer targets than in past seasons, noting that 'there's a lot out there on the field for a lot of these touches and a lot of guys getting the football.' Nix emphasizes Sutton's professionalism and understanding of offensive ebbs and flows, stating 'He's been in these ebbs and flows of the year. He's also had 20 receptions a game, and he probably gets a little tired and wants the ball to go to somebody else.' Nix frames the reduced volume as a function of play-calling and read progression rather than a lack of effort or selflessness from Sutton, who Nix praises for not demanding the ball and for his unselfish approach to the offense.
