Sutton's 41% catch rate is career-worst; Payton demanding production vs. Chargers.
Sutton has been a troublesome issue for the Broncos offense through four games, posting just 9 catches on 22 targets for 86 yards—a 41% catch rate that is by far the lowest of his nine-year career. Head Coach Sean Payton emphasized after the 49ers loss how critical it is to get Sutton producing. With Pat Byrant sidelined by ankle injury, the Broncos desperately need Sutton to elevate his impact, as the Nix-to-Sutton connection has looked sluggish early in the past two seasons but is at its worst in 2026.
