Shipley gets starting role against Jacksonville, but Eagles' weak offense limits upside despite RB-friendly Jaguars pass
Shipley becomes the Eagles' starting running back with Saquon Barkley recovering from hamstring injury and Tank Bigsby on IR with abdominal injury. A multi-sport star and five-star lacrosse recruit, Shipley showed dual run-catch ability at Clemson (1,424 scrimmage yards and 15 touchdowns as a sophomore in 14 games). Selected in fourth round of 2024 draft. Week 5 against Jacksonville in London should yield a dozen or more touches. However, the Eagles' offense has been struggling (26th in points, 29th in yardage, 20th in DVOA, 29th in EPA per play, 27th in yards per play). Jacksonville has a tough run defense, but has allowed second-most receptions and second-most receiving yards to running backs, making the passing game a more plausible path to fantasy value for Shipley.
