We're not down on Kaytron at all. We really like Kaytron... With Kaytron, he has shown a lot of promise and done a nice job. We expose him waivers, and if he doesn't get claimed, we'd like him back on the practice squad.

Allen cut for roster flexibility, not talent concerns; Commanders want him back on practice squad.

GM Adam Peters clarified the Commanders' decision to release Kaytron Allen was not a reflection of confidence in the running back. Peters stated: "We're not down on Kaytron at all. We really like Kaytron." Allen showed promise and performed well, but the cut was a roster move to address immediate team needs for the upcoming game. Peters indicated the team would expose Allen to waivers and, if unclaimed, would like to bring him back to the practice squad, preserving the option to retain him long-term.
