Tonges' vertical targets didn't threaten Seattle's safeties; limited downfield impact last season.

The source notes that Jake Tonges was targeted vertically by the 49ers last season, but the Seahawks' safeties were comfortable allowing this because they did not fear his ability to create separation downfield. This suggests Tonges' limited vertical threat was a constraint on the 49ers' offensive attack against Seattle's two-shell coverage.
