Yahoo Sports NFL on Tory Horton

Horton scored first TD on rare under-center third-down look with play-action.

Tory Horton scored his first touchdown of the season on a play where Sam Darnold checked into a pass from a run look on third-and-short, utilizing an under-center formation. The source highlights this as an example of the rare opportunities Darnold gets to use play-action and heavy personnel on third down, noting that such opportunities won't come often when the Seahawks are consistently in third-and-long situations. This suggests Horton's scoring opportunity came from a structural advantage (under-center look with extra protection) that the Seahawks rarely employ on third down.
