Allen waived by Commanders, claimed by Dolphins; first 2026 draft casualty.

Kaytron Allen was waived by the Washington Commanders on Friday and claimed by the Miami Dolphins, becoming the first roster cut casualty from the 2026 draft class. Allen was a sixth-round pick who arrived in Washington with limited draft capital but is now heading to Miami, a team already familiar with him after he rushed for 85 yards and one touchdown against the Dolphins in the preseason. The waiver move places scrutiny on general manager Adam Peters' decision to place faith in experience over development.
