Murray's experience and motivation favor him over McCarthy in Vikings QB battle.

Cardinals veteran quarterback acquired by Vikings on a one-year deal to compete with J.J. McCarthy for the starting job. This is a new situation for Murray, who has never had to share starting reps and has always been the guy. He is motivated and has all the experience in the NFL leading up to this moment with Kevin O'Connell. Early returns on his studying have been fantastic. He has never been in a situation where he doesn't have a clear path to being the starter, so he must beat out McCarthy and learn the new system. Mike Garofalo expressed surprise if McCarthy beats out Murray in this competition.
