From the episode
23 sack man, Miles Garrett enters the picture. Chris Shula, the defensive coordinator, kind of tried to downplay a little bit. You see Les Snead there and Sean McVay about what they're going to be able to do with Miles Garrett. But he said, listen, we're going to have our principles, but we're also going to let Miles be Miles.
STACKED’s take
Garrett's 23 sacks will create Aaron Donald effect for Rams' defense.
Rams edge rusher acquired via trade from Cleveland; 23-sack player expected to elevate the defense to Super Bowl caliber. Defensive coordinator Chris Shula said the team will let Miles be Miles and collaborate with him rather than change his approach. Garrett will demand double teams and triple teams, which will allow other defensive linemen like Braden Fisk, Puna Ford, and Byron Young (who had 12 sacks and 29 QB hits last season) to thrive. The Rams' defense ranked 17th overall and 19th against the pass last season; Garrett is expected to have an Aaron Donald effect and make the defense dominant. Once the defensive line figures out how to rush together with Garrett, they will reach another level of dominance.
