Big Blue View on J.J. McCarthy

McCarthy's debut package yields 2 yards on 5 plays; predictable and ineffective.

The McCarthy package was a flop in his Giants debut. McCarthy was on the field for five plays: he ran twice for 2 yards, a shovel pass to Darnell Mooney went for a 5-yard loss (bailed out by a Washington facemask penalty), a screen pass to Malik Nabers for 14 yards was wiped out by an illegal shift, and a zone read handoff to Tyrone Tracy went for a yard. The source notes that while the effort to involve the quarterback run in the offense is appreciated, everything done with McCarthy was predictable and did not help an already struggling run game.
