Zac Taylor decided to ride the hot hand on Sunday in Miami, giving Perine 13 carries compared to Chase Brown's 11. Perine was the more effective runner against the Dolphins, just as he was in Week 4, although neither back had much success against Jacksonville.

Perine got hot-hand carries in Week 5 but Brown's pass-game role remains secure.

Perine received 13 carries against Miami compared to Chase Brown's 11 after Zac Taylor 'decided to ride the hot hand,' and was the more effective runner in Week 5 and Week 4; however, the source cautions this doesn't signal a permanent shift in role, noting Brown's 24 receptions versus Perine's seven and the Bengals' pass-first offensive scheme mean 'Brown isn't going anywhere,' suggesting Perine's increased carries are situational rather than indicative of a lasting role change.
