The Phinsider on Malik Willis

Willis worst QB by statistical measures among 19 starters; benching rumors quashed but concerns persist.

Willis, the Dolphins' first-year starter, has struggled significantly through five games; by virtually any statistical measure among the 19 quarterbacks who started all five of their team's games heading into Week 5, Willis ranks worst. Head coach Jeff Hafley confirmed Willis remains the starter despite benching rumors, but acknowledged decision-making and field vision deficiencies. Hafley noted some encouraging moments late in the Bengals game, including a two-minute drive at the end of the half and aggressive play at game's end, but the overall performance trend is deeply concerning for a 0-5 team.
