Javonte Williams was one of the best running backs in the league last year, rushing for over 1,200+ yards and scoring double-digit touchdowns on the ground. Sadly, he's only managed to rush for a total of 276 yards in the ground this year, averaging just 3.7 yards per carry. He has proven to have a nose for the end zone once again scoring six touchdowns in just five games so far this season, but is still unfortunately having difficulty finding consistency in the running game.

Williams' 3.7 YPC and 276 rushing yards through five games mark a sharp decline from prior-year form.

Javonte Williams has rushed for only 276 yards on 3.7 yards per carry through five games this season, a stark decline from his prior-year 1,200+ rushing yards and double-digit ground touchdowns. Despite scoring six touchdowns in five games, he is struggling to find consistency in the running game; some production shortfall is tied to game situations, but the source emphasizes this area can improve significantly. The Cowboys' run game ranks 30th in the league at 81.6 rushing yards per game, and establishing the running game early against Green Bay (which allows 127.6 rushing yards per game, ranking 24th) should prove beneficial to Williams' volume and efficiency going forward.
