the Chargers are placed fullback Alec Ingold on injured/reserve. This comes the week after fellow fullback Scott Matlock returned from IR after missing the first four games of the season. Ingold has struggled in his first season with the Chargers after following Mike McDaniel to LA from Miami. The veteran had long been a key component in McDaniel's offenses the past four seasons, but his first five games for the Chargers have been filled with missed assignments and whiffed blocks.

Ingold placed on IR after struggling with missed assignments and poor blocking.

The Chargers placed fullback Alec Ingold on injured reserve on Thursday afternoon. Ingold struggled in his first season with the Chargers after following Mike McDaniel from Miami, with his first five games marked by missed assignments and whiffed blocks. The move came after fellow fullback Scott Matlock returned from IR and performed well in his first game back, including helping lead the way on Kimani Vidal's 42-yard touchdown run and providing stout blocking in max protection looks. Ingold's inconsistency gave the Chargers confidence they would be better served with Matlock starting at fullback moving forward.
