Pats Pulpit on A.J. Brown

McDaniels: Brown's return brings 'fresh juice'; his presence draws double coverage like Diggs.

Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels emphasized that A.J. Brown's return provides a 'fresh juice' to the receiver room and the offensive unit. McDaniels compared Brown's defensive attention-drawing ability to Stefon Diggs' impact against the Jets last year, noting 'Last year they doubled Diggs in the Jet game a couple times,' and explaining that when defenses put two people on one receiver, 'someone else has a single opportunity.' This suggests Brown's presence as the Patriots' top target will open up the passing game for other receivers and Drake Maye.
