STACKED’s take
Daniels impresses in second start with 76% completion, TD, and mobility edge over Mayfield.
Undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels will start for the Buccaneers in Week 6 against Pittsburgh with Baker Mayfield sidelined by a dislocated thumb. Daniels impressed in Tampa Bay's 24-16 win over Dallas, completing 76% of passes for 189 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions. He demonstrated poise and accuracy in a game plan emphasizing the quick game and play action, with offensive coordinator Zac Robinson tailoring the scheme to support the young passer. At 6'0, Daniels has shorter stature and unremarkable arm strength but drives the ball well on short and intermediate passes. His escapability is an upgrade over Mayfield's, with 87 rushing yards and four first downs on the ground this season.
