Niners Nation on Christian McCaffrey

McCaffrey's reduced workload is strategic to reinvigorate the 49ers rushing attack.

49ers are intentionally reducing McCaffrey's workload this season as part of a strategic shift to reinvigorate the rushing attack, not to extend his career. McCaffrey himself embraces the approach: 'I want to win — whatever it takes to win games,' noting that with a roster where the ball can be spread around, he shouldn't necessarily get as many touches. He frames his role as making his touches count rather than counting them.
