Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio praised Young's progression: "I think I coached against him when he was a rookie, and to see the progress that he's made from then to now, kudos to him and their coaching staff. He really good processor, makes quick decisions, knows where to go with the ball. He's elusive, he's a scrambler, really good anticipation. Very, very impressed by him." Under Young, Carolina is No. 6 in the NFL in second-half scoring, averaging 14.5 points a game, up from 10.6 last year.
