Yahoo Sports NFL on Josh Allen
From the article
Allen and running back James Cook combined for 232 rushing yards in Monday night's overtime victory. Allen accounted for 121 of them, another reminder that defending Buffalo's quarterback requires considerably more than making him uncomfortable in the pocket.
STACKED’s take
Allen's dual-threat rushing upside exploits Raiders' explosive-play and run-defense vulnerabilities.
Allen and the Bills present a multidimensional offensive threat to a Raiders defense already struggling to contain explosive plays. Allen combined with running back James Cook for 232 rushing yards in Monday night's overtime victory against the Rams, with Allen accounting for 121 of those yards himself. The Raiders' defensive vulnerabilities—ranked seventh most in explosive plays allowed (35 total) and fourth-most rushing yards allowed—create a dangerous matchup; Allen can hurt defenses from the pocket, with his legs to buy time outside the pocket, or by tucking and running. Raiders linebacker Nakobe Dean called this "backyard football." The timing is particularly challenging for Las Vegas, which has surrendered the ninth-most points allowed per game over the past two weeks after ranking seventh two weeks prior.
