Jay Ajayi provides another useful floor. Philadelphia acquired him from Miami for a fourth-round pick in 2017. Ajayi was also only 24 and was less than a year removed from a 1,272-yard Pro Bowl season.

NeutralValue

Ajayi's fourth-round trade value establishes Taylor's floor, not his actual worth.

Philadelphia acquired Ajayi from Miami for a fourth-round pick in 2017 at age 24, less than a year removed from a 1,272-yard Pro Bowl season. However, Ajayi had one excellent season and a much shorter résumé than Jonathan Taylor, establishing another floor for Taylor's trade value; if Ajayi was worth a fourth-round pick, Taylor—who has been elite for most of his career—should command significantly more.
