McCaffrey's versatility extended to emergency QB duty; 49ers are different team without him.

McCaffrey's versatility and impact were so significant that the 49ers used him at quarterback in the NFC Championship Game when Brock Purdy tore his elbow and backup Josh Johnson left with a concussion. The source notes McCaffrey was 'taking snaps' and 'you could see him on the bench after every series, where they were trying to tell him how to run the position and how to read a wristband.' Despite Father Time being unbeaten, the source emphasizes 'the 49ers are a much different team without him' and that 'he's still a threat anytime he touches the ball,' even with workload management through understudy Kaelon Black.
