Lance's injury-plagued tenure failed to justify three-pick draft investment.

Lance was drafted by the 49ers in 2021 using three draft picks, but the pick did not pan out as expected; he suffered an ankle injury in Week 2 of 2022, leading to his replacement and ultimately contributing to the team's decision to keep Garoppolo as backup despite the significant draft capital invested.
