If Steichen were to bench him, that would presumably elevate Anthony Richardson Sr. to the starting role. Richardson, who the Colts selected with the No. 4 overall draft pick in 2023, has made only 15 starts over his first two seasons while dealing with various injuries.

Richardson remains backup; would start if Jones benched but no change expected.

Anthony Richardson remains the backup to Daniel Jones despite the Colts' struggles. Richardson, the No. 4 overall pick in 2023, has made only 15 starts over his first two seasons while dealing with various injuries. If Steichen were to bench Jones, Richardson would presumably be elevated to the starting role, but Jones won the starting job over him in training camp last year and retains it despite recent poor performance.
