Bleeding Green Nation on Jalen Hurts

Hurts out for season with blood clots; played Week 5 without sleep.

Out for the remainder of the 2026 NFL season due to bilateral pulmonary emboli and deep vein thrombosis; initially diagnosed with left calf superficial vein thrombosis in London. Hurts played in Week 5 without sleep after hospitalization until 4 am due to sleep being a risk factor. Treatment involves anticoagulation (blood thinners) with no contact activities allowed; prognosis is good with expectation of full recovery and no long-term effects, but he will not return to football this season.
