Daniels took blame for Week 5 final-sequence failure that cost Commanders a win.

Daniels took responsibility for the Week 5 botched final sequence against the Giants, where with 12 seconds remaining and no timeouts, he dropped back to pass, looked to scramble, started upfield, was tackled with nine seconds left, and did not get off the ground for another four seconds with little urgency from teammates. Daniels stated 'Ultimately, it's on me at the end,' acknowledging his role in the execution failure that resulted in a 27-27 tie instead of a potential game-winning field goal attempt.
