Bleeding Green Nation on Johnny Mundt

Mundt's holding penalty reveals the offense's reliance on penalties to function.

Tight end committed a holding penalty on a play where he was beaten around the edge by a linebacker. The source states: 'Except Johnny Mundt holds the linebacker after getting beaten around the edge, and the play comes back. Mundt's hold buys McKee the extra moment he needs to make the throw.' While the hold allowed McKee to complete a beautiful throw to Darius Cooper, the Eagles cannot keep calling an offense that needs its blockers to hold just to give the quarterback enough time to execute it. This illustrates the systemic protection problems in the offense.
