Ruled out for the remainder of the season after a superficial blood clot in his left calf spread to his lungs, diagnosed as deep vein thrombosis and bilateral pulmonary emboli. Initially diagnosed by specialists in London; after further testing, the diagnosis was upgraded. He is clinically stable with no significant functional limitations and will not participate in any contact activities, including football, while on anticoagulation therapy. Medical prognosis is very good with full recovery expected and no anticipated long-term effects, but he will miss the rest of the season.
