Williams' early gains evaporated as Cowboys running game collapsed.

Williams showed early promise with an eight-yard gain after Tyler Booker's second-level block, but the Cowboys' running game completely vanished as the game progressed; he was taken down for a two-yard loss on a subsequent play when Terence Steele whiffed on a block, and by the second half the running game had disappeared entirely, forcing the offense into repeated third-and-long situations.
