Yahoo Sports NFL on Dohnte Meyers

Meyers' kickoff return execution inconsistent: 81-yard TD setup, then out-of-bounds mistake.

Rookie wide receiver Dohnte Meyers had an inconsistent Week 5 performance against the Dolphins on kickoff returns. He started the game with an 81-yard kickoff return that set the Bengals up at Miami's 10-yard line, leading to a touchdown three plays later. However, later in the game, Meyers fielded a kickoff at the four-yard line and his momentum carried him out of bounds almost immediately, setting Joe Burrow and the offense up in the shadow of their own goalposts and eliminating any chance of starting that possession with favorable field position.
