FantasyPros Articles on J.J. McCarthy

McCarthy impressed in relief; likely starts Week 7 for Giants.

McCarthy was brought in mid-game last week and threw an interception on his first pass, but then played great and led three consecutive scoring drives, almost completing the comeback against the Saints. In about 10 minutes of play, he threw for 243 passing yards, which is more than he ever achieved in a full game for the Vikings. The source assumes McCarthy will start Week 7 based on the hot hand, though there's no official news yet. He is sometimes brilliant but overall still represents a very good matchup for defenses.
