Acme Packing Company on Matthew Golden

Golden ran wrong route option, disrupting timing and leading to Love's interception.

Golden was supposed to run a 'Lookie' option route from the slot against a linebacker after motion forced an off-ball linebacker to cover him; the route requires the receiver to run vertical, stutter, then choose between a slant (if defender has inside leverage) or an out route (if defender has outside leverage). Golden ended up square with the linebacker after his stutter but decided to break outside anyway, failing to 'make every effort to cross the defender's face' for the slant as instructed; this wrong decision on the option route disrupted timing and allowed the linebacker with flat responsibility in quarters coverage to undercut the football for an interception.
