Daniels' rookie mistakes resurface in Year 3; Quinn wants him to take his shot on fourth down.

Daniels has made recurring rookie mistakes in Year 3 after injuries stunted his stardom following his magical 2024 campaign; head coach Dan Quinn addressed an ill-advised fourth-down throwaway against the 49ers on October 19, 2026, where Daniels threw the ball out of bounds rather than giving a receiver a chance despite an illegal shift penalty that was declined. Quinn told him: 'Even when you know that there's a penalty, you still take your shot, man, to go throw it, complete it' and 'You don't know if it's going to get picked up.' Quinn emphasized these are learning moments he addresses immediately rather than waiting until the next day.
