QB Jayden Daniels and the offense clearly weren't attuned to the game-ending situation, which merely required a spike of the ball to set up an attempt for a makeable game-winning field goal (which never happened)

Daniels' mental lapses in game-ending execution threaten Commanders' playoff hopes.

Jayden Daniels and the Commanders offense showed mental lapses in execution; after a humiliating tie against the Giants where Daniels wasn't attuned to game-ending situation (requiring a spike), he threw the ball away on fourth down inside the 49ers' red zone in Week 6, apparently thinking he had a free play when he didn't, resulting in a penalty that ended the drive. Quinn said the only thing he wished Daniels had done differently was take a shot, even if he thought a penalty was coming.
