Buffalo Rumblings on Brian Thomas Jr.
ArticleNFL trade deadline: Buffalo Bills trade candidate – Brian Thomas Jr.
From the article
Thomas boasts prototypical size and speed to serve as a vertical-threat X on the outside in the Bills offense. That spot is currently held by DJ Moore. However, even if he's built to be the downfield burner X he demonstrated he could be in 2024, resorting to the off-the-line Z wideout — the other outside receiver — would be most sensible for Thomas if the Bills were to trade for him.

BTJ would likely slot into Josh Palmer's Z role with Bills, not DJ Moore's X spot.
If acquired by the Bills, BTJ's prototypical size (just under 6'3", 209 lbs) and 4.33 speed suit him for a vertical-threat X role, but the more sensible fit would be the Z receiver position—the off-the-line wideout responsible for taking the lid off the defense and freeing underneath space. This would likely replace Josh Palmer's role on the roster.
