On a crucial fourth-and-three, Denver converted with a six-yard run by Tyler Badie. My read is that Cooper Kupp's route was intended to create access for Jaxon Smith-Njigba, a concept Seattle has used successfully before.

Kupp was open on key plays but Darnold failed to target him consistently.

On the two-point conversion against Denver, Kupp's route was intended to create access for Jaxon Smith-Njigba in a concept Seattle has used successfully before, but Denver covered both receivers, leaving Darnold with limited alternatives. On third-and-one, Kupp went in motion and found himself wide open against man coverage; Darnold saw the look but didn't throw to him and moved to his second read instead.
