Arrowhead Pride on Cyrus Allen

Allen made most of 9 snaps with 2 catches; impressive timing with Mahomes suggests bigger role ahead.

Rookie Cyrus Allen, a preseason hot commodity with minimal impact until this game, saw only 9 snaps but made the most of his opportunities with 2 receptions on 2 targets for 27 yards. Lined up in the slot, he attacked the heart of the defense and created an immediate mismatch for the linebacker, using outstanding acceleration to get past the linebacker level and find the spot between two high safeties. The timing and precision required to pull off this play with Mahomes, despite having so few live snaps together in games, was impressive. If Allen keeps making plays like this, he should earn a bigger role in the offense.
