Williams faces Patriots defense ranked 5th in points allowed; prior 19-3 loss saw 9 sacks.

Caleb Williams faces a Patriots defense ranked fifth in points allowed and sixth in yards allowed, with a passing defense ranked 11th. This is a rematch of the 2024 rookie matchup where the game 'did not go Caleb's way'—the Bears lost 19-3 in Week 10 of 2024, with Williams sacked nine times and the offense mustering only 142 total yards. The source notes Dennis Allen must use disguises and blitzes well to try to get Drake Maye looking like the early-season version rather than the recent improved version.
