McCarthy energizes Giants offense in relief; third-season breakout potential mirrors Josh Allen.

McCarthy entered the Giants game after the Saints built a 34-10 fourth-quarter lead and immediately energized the offense, completing 11 of 21 passes for 243 yards and one touchdown with one interception; despite poor performance in his first two NFL seasons, McCarthy has Josh Allen-like potential for a third-season breakout, having been worse than Allen in his early years and now showing signs of competence and competitive fire in limited action.
