McCarthy's skill set similar to Dart's; enables Nagy's intended playbook design.

Jaxson Dart was lost for the season, forcing the Giants into survival mode. McCarthy's skill set is somewhat more like Dart's, which may allow Matt Nagy to use more of the playbook he had developed for Dart in the off-season. McCarthy is not Dart, but he gives the Giants the opportunity to be the offense they want to be rather than the offense they have to be with Winston. The Giants have been in survival mode since Dart was lost for the season, doing the best they can with backup quarterbacks they did not plan on playing.
