Miscommunication with McCarthy on interception; raises concerns about QB-receiver sync.

Malachi Fields was involved in a miscommunication with J.J. McCarthy on one of McCarthy's interceptions during his mop-up appearance against the Saints. The source notes that while McCarthy's accomplishments were impressive, it's fair to acknowledge the fortune of two dropped near-interceptions and the one he threw on what looked like a miscommunication with Malachi Fields. Communication is cited as a reason for hesitation on the move to McCarthy; the question is whether McCarthy can effectively relay the calls and get the offense on the same page to allow post-alignment adjustments within the Matt Nagy scheme.
