Daniels' decision to try to hit Burks at the edge of the end zone on a low-percentage throw as opposed to throwing to running back Rachaad White in the left flat, or just running the ball himself… well, that was questionable when the 49ers had Daniels' downfield targets locked down in man coverage.

Burks targeted on Daniels' questionable late-game throw; low-percentage decision cost drive

Receiver Treylon Burks was targeted on a critical late-game decision by Jayden Daniels with two minutes left, down six points from the San Francisco 17-yard line on fourth-and-3. Daniels attempted a low-percentage throw to Burks at the edge of the end zone instead of dumping to running back Rachaad White in the left flat or running the ball himself, with the 49ers having downfield targets locked down in man coverage. This decision-making error contributed to the Commanders' loss.
