To say that quarterback Bo Nix is experiencing some regression this season may be putting it mildly. STACKED’s take
Nix regressing significantly; Payton backing him but acknowledging need for offensive improvement.
Quarterback Bo Nix is experiencing significant regression this season. Head Coach Sean Payton was asked whether he was considering making a switch at the position but stood behind Nix, stating that offensive line play, balance, and running game efficiency need improvement. Payton said: 'No. He's going to become the byproduct of all the finer things that get improved. The improved play from our offensive line, the more efficient we are relative to balance, running the football.' Though Payton remains supportive, it's clear Nix needs to improve drastically for the Broncos to be a contender. He has struggled early in his first two seasons but has improved in second-half stretches, providing some hope.
